This tool organizes Forest Lake Area Schools MCA results into several complementary views. How to Read the Results

Proficient is the combined percentage of students in the Meets and Exceeds achievement levels. The district and state comparisons provide context, but they do not explain why differences exist.

A single-year result is best treated as a snapshot. Multi-year patterns are generally more useful than one isolated increase or decline, especially for schools and grades with smaller tested groups.

The tool intentionally presents the underlying percentages and tested-student counts without assigning letter grades or declaring a school a winner. Meaningful interpretation requires both quantitative results and knowledge of each school's students, programs, and circumstances.

Reference Data and Methodology

Results are drawn from the Minnesota Department of Education's Minnesota Report Card and its official Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment reporting data. The explorer presents available Forest Lake Area Schools results beginning with the 2019 spring testing year.

Reading results include tested grades 3-8 and 10 where data are available.
Mathematics results include tested grades 3-8 and 11 where data are available.
Science results include grade 5, grade 8, and high-school reports where data are available.
School comparisons include only District 831 elementary schools with a matching result.
